Raliegh started walking the day before her first birthday! For the past 2 months she has been perfecting her "new skill." She has been learning new words - her vocab consists of "mimi" (binky), kitty (which only can be recognized by her moms!), mommy, uh-oh, she is working on Whoaa............ and doggie (as she is very fond of doggies these days!). She can now go up and down the stairs, climb up and down off of the couch by herself and is very fond of music - especially if someone from Sesame Street is singing it!

Adoption Day - August 24, 2007
Well Raleigh now officially has 2 parents! The adoption went well and was rather quick once we got into the judges "chambers". The actual wait to get in was 1.5 hours and the official court room "drama" only about 3 minutes. Emily and I both had to give our addresses over the past 5 years and verify Raleigh's birthdate and place of birth. Raleigh slept - until we work her for this picture with the judge. We had a nice lunch afterwards and then took Raleigh on a long walk on the TowPath in Manyunk (Emily and I followed that up with a plate of nachos and oysters (Emily's of course) and a nice frothy beer! (Raleigh stuck to the Similac after several failed attempts to grab a nacho!).
